At Dynamic Dental Care, we understand that busy parents may find it difficult to schedule dental appointments for the whole family. Finding the right family dentist is a key part of ensuring every member of the family maintains excellent oral health. We can even save you time and money. Our family practice is a one-stop shop for all your family’s dental care needs!
Family Friendly A good family practice should provide comfortable, safe, and effective services for every member of the family, especially children. We understand that a visit to the dentist may be a scary thought for some children. Our office is designed to meet the needs of your child and help them gain a positive attitude during their dental visit. Our waiting room is complete with toys and games to relax them before their appointment.
We also give away toy prizes, stickers, or toothbrushes and floss after their appointment to reinforce a positive experience. However, the most important part of their visit is the kindness and encouragement of our professional staff. Dr. Huish and our dental hygienist are gentle, patient, and family-friendly. You’ll find that visits to our office may make your child more interested in taking good care of their teeth.
Your Family’s Best Defense While regular checkups and professional cleanings are an integral part of your family’s oral health, a good oral hygiene routine is paramount. Make sure you and your family brush at least twice a day with an ADA approved fluoride toothpaste. The ideal time to brush is after major meals and before bedtime. We also recommend that you floss once a day. However, brushing and flossing is essentially ineffective without the proper technique. During your appointments, we can review the proper brushing and flossing techniques.
Be sure to brush every part of the tooth, including the outside, inside, and chewing surfaces in a back and forth motion. When flossing gently rub the floss up and down the sides of each tooth to remove any remaining food debris.
A balanced diet is also an important part of your family’s oral health. Try to limit your child’s exposure to sugary or starchy snacks.
Frequent snacking can be our teeth’s biggest enemy. If your child does need a snack, choose a healthier option like fruits and vegetables. The bacteria in our mouths feed off simple carbohydrates like sugar. When they feed, they produce acids that eat away at the enamel and cause cavities. They can also solicit a response from our immune system that leads to an infection in the gum tissues. This is commonly known as gum disease. You can learn more about your family’s best defense against tooth decay and gum disease during a scheduled appointment.
