Dental BondingWhen you hear the word bonding, what comes to mind? A bad chemistry class? Time with your friends? Or perhaps the need to connect with someone? Bonding is usually a positive thing, because it is all about making connections between people. You may have things in common with your friends because you work in the same place, or because you love the same podcast. However you think of bonding, we have another reason for loving bonding. Bonding helps us to make your teeth look the way they did when you got them. Let Dynamic Dental Care tell you about bonding and why we love using bonding to restore your teeth to their natural beauty. What Is Bonding?Bonding is used to fix your teeth when something happens to damage them. Bonding is a material that is made of a composite material such as plastic and glass. We can use bonding to fix problems with your teeth. In fact, bonding can be used on nearly all of your teeth to fix a multitude of problems. What Is Bonding Used for?Sometimes, despite your best efforts, your teeth are damaged. Perhaps you chip or crack your tooth on a cup or bottle. You might also have a tooth that is discolored by medication or a blow to the mouth. You also could have been born with teeth that are less than pristine. You might have teeth that are not spaced properly. You might even have a misshapen tooth. There are also a lot of people who have a gap between their teeth, especially the two large teeth in the front. There are people who adore their front tooth gap - like Michael Strahan - but other people want the gap between their teeth fixed. We can fix your gap quickly by bonding your two teeth together. If you have chipped or cracked your tooth because of an injury or because of an accident, bonding can restore your teeth. Playing sports without a mouthguard could also lead to a chipped or cracked tooth. We can use bonding to restore the look of your sports-injured tooth. If you have teeth that are discolored, bonding can also restore a tooth’s color to match the other teeth in your mouth. That way, all of your teeth look the same color, which means that you have a more confident smile. What Is the Procedure for Bonding?Of all of the procedures we do, bonding is one of the easiest. We take a look at the tooth that you want bonded. We match the bonding agent to your natural teeth. If you want your teeth to be whiter, you may want to whiten your teeth before we apply a bonding agent. Once we apply the bonding agent, we can’t change its color, so if you whiten your teeth, you will notice the color changing and the bonding agent color won’t match the tooth color. Bonding is such an easy procedure; we don’t even have to numb a tooth! We simply place the bonding on your tooth, and use a hardening agent. Do you have questions about bonding? We can help!
